* All attribute ratings can be improved by training
* Minimum rating is 1
* There are no maximum rating
* Rating gradients help you compare a player against other players in the game

An important concept in Matchday is the player attribute rating system. Each player has ratings for various mental, defensive and offensive attributes. In total there is 17 attribute ratings for outfield players and 15 attribute ratings for goalkeepers.

Player ratings evolve over time. The minimum value for a rating is 1, but there are no maximum value. Players can always improve their ratings. One way to improve ratings is by playing games, but far more important is training. To better understand how to improve player ratings through training see the training user guide.

Each player rating is visualized by a rating gradient(see below).

The rating gradients is used to compare a player's specific attribute rating to other players in the game, or in the same division or in the same team. You choose which gradient to use by selecting 'Game', 'Division', 'Team' in the gradient menu at the bottom right at the player profile page.

The following colors are used in the rating gradient:
Red- Below Average
Yellow - Average
Green - Over Average

If a star is shown at the end of the gradient it means that the rating is among the 5 percent best (in the game, division or team)

NB! When you look at players without a club they will be compared to your division and your team.

In addition to these player attributes each player has three important condition ratings. Each condition rating is shown as a percentage value between 0 and 100. You can only see condtions ratings for players on your own team. The condtion ratings are visualised in three pie charts on the player ratings page(See Below)
